Privacy Policy
The British Lambretta Archive (lambrettaframecheck.co.uk) respects your privacy. This page explains what data may be collected when you browse or use the site, why it is collected, and the choices available to you.
What we collect
This website does not require account creation and does not collect personal details such as your name, postal address, or payment information through on-site forms.
Like most websites, limited technical information is processed to ensure the site functions correctly, to maintain operational integrity, and to improve the quality and reliability of historical reference tools.
VIN Tool Telemetry & Operational Monitoring
The VIN Search and authentication tools generate operational telemetry data. This includes:
- Non-reversible cryptographic hashes derived from IP address and browser user-agent
- Session timestamps
- Vehicle type and model selections
- Authentication or no-match results
- Approximate geographic location (country and city level only)
Raw IP addresses are not stored in the telemetry ledger. Instead, one-way hashes are generated at the time of processing. These hashes cannot be reversed to identify an individual.
Location data is resolved to approximate country and city level for operational insight and abuse detection. Exact location, street address, or precise coordinates are not collected.
This telemetry is used solely to:
- Maintain reliability of the VIN authentication system
- Detect automated scraping or abusive behaviour
- Analyse system performance
- Monitor usage patterns for archive improvement
Telemetry data is not used for advertising, profiling, or commercial resale.
Operational telemetry logs may be retained for security and historical monitoring purposes for a limited period consistent with archive integrity and abuse prevention requirements.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are read, how visitors move through the archive, and how the site performs across devices.
GA4 may process standard usage information such as your browser type, device type, approximate location (country/city level), and interaction data (e.g., pages viewed). Advertising features are not enabled.
How your data is processed
Analytics data is processed by Google LLC as a service provider. Telemetry data is processed internally within the British Lambretta Archive infrastructure. Data is not sold and is not shared with third parties except where legally required.
